Philippians 1:9-11
HOW TO PRAY FOR OTHERS.

  1. PRAY THAT THEY WOULD ABOUND IN LOVE

    1. Remember love is an action.

    2. Remember there are different types of love.

When you pray for someone's love to abound:
      • Pray that they would love their equals.
      • Pray that they would love the less fortunate.
      • Pray that they would love the more fortunate.
      • Pray that they would love those who mistreat them.

  2. PRAY THAT THEY WOULD CHOOSE WHAT'S BEST

  3. PRAY THAT THEY WOULD BE SINCERE AND WITHOUT OFFENSE

1 Corinthians 4:5 - (The Lord) will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts.

Jesus said, "There is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light." (Mark 4:22)

  4. PRAY THAT THEY WILL DO RIGHTEOUS WORKS

John 15:4-5 - Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

  5. PRAY THAT THEY WILL LIVE TO THE GLORY AND PRAISE OF GOD

    Abounding love produces spiritual excellence.

    Spiritual excellence produces sincere character.

    Sincerity produces a righteous life.

A righteous life produces glory and praise for God.

    • That they'd abound in love.
    • That they'd choose what's best.
    • That they'd be sincere and without offense.
    • That they'd produce righteous works.
    • That their life would be to the glory and praise of God.
